Russell

I also run The Edinburgh Catering Company with my wife, Claire, and I've cooked in and around Edinburgh for the last 10 years or so and still love it.

I'm enjoying working between EFD and TECC and looking forward to pushing both forwards in 2021.

Buy me a drink: A negroni or a margarita, all day.  A pint of Jarl if we're drinking beers.

Take me for dinner: Ondine for amazing fish; Dishoom for Indian (and cocktails before/afterwards in the bar) or Chez Jules for a steak and bottle of house red!

Always in my basket: Company sourdough for sure, as I can't live without bread. I also love our smoked bacon for sandwiches, especially as a BLT in the brioche buns.

Douglas

I co-founded EFD in 2020 & now manage the day to day operations. I spend a lot of time on the lookout for great new products. (Wine sampling has to be the highlight of this role) If you think our range is missing anything, give me a call or an e-mail and I will try and make it happen!

Outside of work you'll find me chasing my disobedient rescue dog around Edinburgh.

Buy me a drink: An IPA or an Islay Whisky - sometimes both.

Take me for dinner: Super casual for me, Razzo on Great Junction Street.

Always in my basket: Guanciale!

Also, The Gran Bohedal Rioja is a stand out.

Claire

I have recently come back to work from maternity leave - Russell and I have a little girl Clementine. Before that I ran all of The Edinburgh Catering Company events: planning weddings with the newly-engaged and pouring champagne for the newlywed.

My working life has always centred around food & drink: I’ve waitressed in restaurants, managed cocktail bars and done a bit of brand ambassador work in the beer & spirit world. Russell and I also spent a wild winter working in chalets in Val d’sere before settling in Edinburgh in 2012

Buy me a drink: Make mine a nice cold glass of Albarino or a Sidecar if we’re somewhere fancy

Take me for dinner: Fish Pie at the Scran & Scallie please!

Always in my basket: Fennel & chilli sables and white chocolate cannoli (although I wouldn’t recommend them together!)

Nick

I joined the team as Head of Development & Production in summer 2020 but before that I spent 10 years in London working in a variety of busy kitchens before starting my own pop-up restaurant & catering company in 2013.

Last summer I sold the business and moved back to my hometown of Edinburgh to await the arrival of my twin daughters, Molly & Ovie. Lockdown was pretty much spent sterilising bottles & changing nappies, so I am delighted to have joined the team (and to be getting out of the house!).

Buy me a drink: A whisky sour.

Take me for dinner: The Lobster Shack in North Berwick.

Always in my basket: A big bag of Supagrill Lumpwood Charcoal to use on our newly built fire table

Louise

I joined The Edinburgh Catering Company in May 2019 after finding my love for events (and Edinburgh!) during my master’s degree in International Marketing with Tourism & Events. My hometown is Forfar and I love heading back whenever I can to spend time with my family, especially my gorgeous little sisters.

As well as covering all bases in the hospitality world, I also worked in retail for over 6 years - this experience meant the transition to Edinburgh Food Delivery at the beginning of lockdown was seamless.

Buy me a drink: An ice filled glass of Rosé with a few fresh strawberries thrown in or an espresso martini if in need of a pick-me-up!

Take me for dinner: Cafe Andaluz for some tapas and sangria

Always in my basket: I love spreading some smoked salmon pate or red pepper & feta meze over my bagels, and after trying them a few months ago - the hazelnut cannoli are always is my basket!

Simone

I have very recently joined the team at EFD when I finished studying physics at university, a very big change but one I’ve really enjoyed making! I’m at the start of my food and drink journey and am looking forward to where it takes me.

At home you’ll find me managing my DIY zoo with everything from dogs to horses to mini turtles, which has kept me on my toes during lockdown!

Buy me a drink: It has to be a margarita for me, but a bramble is a close second.

Take me for dinner: Origano for a verdure pizza

Always in my basket: The company ciabatta is next level, as well as The Shortbread House dark choc chip shortbread!
