Cedar Plank Salmon / Trout - Half Side
Half a side of salmon on a cedar plank, ready to grill.
We have brined the salmon for you, so it's already seasoned and extra juicy - but feel
free to add any herbs or spices you like.
Either prop up in front of an open fire or bbq as in the photo, or place wood side down onto the grill of a bbq and close the lid. Alternatively place under a hot grill or
even bake in the oven if you don't have a bbq.
The wood protects the fish from the intense heat and helps steam the flesh, while imparting a sublte smokey wood flavour into the fish. Ideally allow the wood to
char a little to help flavour the fish. The skin will tend to stick to
the wood, which makes it easy to handle while cooking - no need to flip
the fish. Once it is nicely charred and cooked to your liking, remove
and serve straight from the plank.
